Sports sands
Golf – Bunker
sand: Many of the UK’s top golf
courses – such as Wentworth in Surrey, host of several
European PGA Tour events – opt for Bucbricks silica sand.
.
With
a lime content of less than 0.2 per cent and with its rounded
particle shape, Bucbricks’ White Medium Silica Sand is
extensively used to create attractive bunkers at some of the
leading golf clubs in the south of England. From an aethestic
point of view, the sand’s natural whiteness makes a stark
and eye-catching contrast with the greens and fairways.
Other
golf sands: This low lime content sand is also ideal for brushing-in
and top-dressing tees and greens.
Top
Dressing: 0/2mm (medium grade) sand is used to promote healthy
turf growth at golf
courses.
Synthetic
Sports Turf: The 0/.5mm (30D) and .5/1mm (16/30) grades of
dried sand are used to add stability and
drainage
for synthetic tennis courts.
Jumping
Pits: Bucbricks white sand is non staining and is widely used
by Local Authorities
for school long jump
pits and is certified by the Centre
of Sports
Technology to BS EN 1177:1988 which ensures it is suitable for children.
Children
Play Pits: As Bucbricks white sand is non staining it is
very suitable for childrens play pits.
Other
Sports Uses: Bucbricks’ sand
is used in a variety of sporting environments, from football,
cricket and hockey pitches to dressage rings and bowling
greens.
Bucbricks
Ardleigh Sands are recommended for sports use by the Sports
Turf Research Institute.
